From WP support….I asked how to post a YouTube…this was their answer

Dec 20, 2010 … To quickly embed a YouTube video, simply copy the video’s URL from your web browser’s address bar while viewing the video and paste it…….etc
With the first method (URL copy & paste), MAKE SURE the YouTube link is NOT hyperlinked. If the URL is shown in blue, as the first line in the screenshot below, then it is hyperlinked. Simply select the whole URL and click the “Unlink” icon on your Visual Editor toolbar.
Read it again.C&P works only in COMMENTS without doing anything, however look where you are posting the url. You are NOT in comments,you are posting an original YouTube., and it automatically gives it a hot link which is what you don’t want there. .
You are not stupid. You are overlooking the obvious. Comment area and posting a new thread are different, correct? The area between the two look different. Comment is empty white space. Post a new thread has options above body you type messages in.
You are trying to post a YouTube in a new thread, where you have all those choices above the area you type in or post a link, correct?
Go look at all those icons just above your area that you type a message in. Hover over all the icons. You know the area where it has “B” for bold print etc…. It is in that line of icons, 5th from the right.
